2. Inspect the Indoor Air Conditioning Unit
Turn the system on and pay attention to what it is doing.
Is the airflow strong? Is the air coming out cool? Do you notice a musty smell, rattling, buzzing or unusual vibration?

I normally look at the system’s age, condition, repair history, performance and operating costs. A relatively sound system with a minor fault may be worth repairing. An older system requiring repeated repairs may deserve a replacement assessment.
